Every July 4th, Piedmont Makers marches in the Piedmont 4th of July Parade. Robotics teams, a build-season prototype or two, and the FRC parade robot, usually 15 feet tall and very loud.

We placed 2nd in 2024 and took home the Highland Cup in 2025. The float comes back every year, slightly improved, slightly louder, definitely a hit with kids in the crowd.
The parade is open to all current Piedmont Makers families. Robotics team members typically lead the float; younger siblings and parents follow. If you want to march with us, the open call goes out in the newsletter in mid-June.
To watch: stake out a spot on Highland Ave the morning of July 4. We're usually somewhere in the middle of the lineup.
