LEGO League Challenge robot game practice draws 60 teams

October 25, 2026 · Piedmont Makers

60 LEGO League Challenge teams practiced the robot game on official tables with referees and an announcer, getting a feel for tournament day ahead of the December Community Tournament.

On Saturday, October 24, 60 LEGO League Challenge teams spent the day at Piedmont Middle School’s Morrison Gym for our robot game practice. Each team ran its robot twice on official game tables, with referees scoring and an announcer calling the rounds.

Scores were for practice only, so kids could get comfortable with tournament conditions before December: setting up at a competition table, launching their robot, and running missions in front of a crowd of parents and other teams.

Teams also watched each other’s runs, which gave them a look at how others are approaching this season’s BIOGLOW missions and some strategy ideas to bring back to their own tables.
